About Us
Dotcom4Free was founded in 2004 to provide
Free web design for the specialized needs of ecommerce shopping cart software. If
we design web site 4 free, how could we survive? We get profit from
web hosting. We don't charge more in hosting than those hosting
companies do. But we give our clients FREE
e-commerce web design as special benefit.
Before starting the company, we ourselves had searched for and tried many web hosting companies which claimed to support
e-commerce, but time and time again, we were disappointed in the service provided. Sometimes it was page parse times and/or SQL queries that were horribly slow. Other times it was hosts with transaction limits on their database or even throttling our sites bandwidth.
It quickly became apparent that the vast majority of hosts don't care about the needs of
e-commerce users. They just want to overload their servers with as many accounts as possible to squeeze every last dime out their investment. (yes, that is greed)
So when we started Dotcom4Free, we adopted two golden-rules that we would abide by:
- The number of clients on the servers is less important than the performance of the client accounts currently on the servers.
- Maintaining the performance of e-commerce clients is the number one priority.
A significant majority of our clients are refugees from other hosting companies, including some very big and well known names in the business -- even some who claim to 'specialize' in
e-commerce hosting.
And we must be doing something right. As of this date (Nov
26th 2007), we have never had a eCommerce client leave for another host. (knock on wood)
